Take one of Christendom’s most improving rappers, put him with one of urban music’s most highly regarded singers and get them delivering a song about God’s mind boggling love.

The result, 'Like You Do (ft V.Rose)' by Roy Tosh, is a delicious xRhythms radio hit and shows that the Indianapolis-born, Orlando-based rapper is getting better and better.

Roy first found fame on the basketball court. However, it was after graduating from high school that he encountered God in such a powerful way, and found himself with a growing passion to tell others about God through his rapping.

Nationally known rapper Benjah encouraged Roy to rebrand.

The young emcee began to work with organisations like FCA and Student Venture and recorded two albums under the name 737. But after relocating to Orlando, Florida, nationally known rapper Benjah encouraged Roy to rebrand with a combination of his second birth name and part of his surname.

Benjah also encouraged the newly named rapper to develop a melodic approach to his hip-hop, and Roy has subsequently worked with top singers like Beckah Shae and recently Cade Thompson. But it’s his work with V.Rose, the talented singer who appeared on his ‘Death Before Love’ album, which is now paying creative dividends.

I ain’t ever known a love that’s so strange.

'Like You Do' is very much a snapshot of Roy’s life and how much it has changed since his encounter with Jesus:

“Grace got ya boy reminiscin’
Thinkin’ ‘bout the days I was wildin’ out, trippin’
Used to be up then down like the coasters do
Had no thoughts of approaching you/But then ooh, now you all up my brain
Life slowed down, I had to switch lanes
Know all of me and still you don’t change
I ain’t ever known a love that’s so strange
Now I’m laid up, takin’ way up
I ain’t ever comin’ down, yuh yuh yuh
Got me prayed up, it’s a layup
Tellin’ e’rybody all around.”
