Apollo LTD is comprised of two members, Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark, who burst onto the music scene in 2015 with their self-titled EP and quickly gaining popularity.
Phillips and Stark originally met in 2004 and have been making music together ever since.
One of their newest singles is called “YOU”, and it’s featured on the xRhythms playlist.
Since its release, “YOU” has become one of their most popular tracks, with almost 2 million streams on Spotify.
The song explores the topic of self-worth and the feeling of never being enough, expressing that “Heaven knows your name. There is a reason you were made.”
Apollo LTD launched the #YOUProject.
As part of the release of their song, Apollo LTD launched the #YOUProject, where they asked people to send in videos sharing their stories.
In these videos, people delved deep into all of the things that make them who they are. The things they like about themselves, the things they don’t like, the things they are afraid of, and the things that they are always working to improve.
These videos have now been combined and feature in a 15-minute version of the aforementioned track’s music video.
This project comes at a crucial time when, especially amongst young people, self-esteem is at an all-time low.
The founder of ‘Mind-to-Mind Parenting’, Donna Wick, commented, “For teenagers the combined weight of vulnerability, the need for validation, and a desire to compare themselves with peers forms what she describes as a “perfect storm of self-doubt.””
Everything that has been created has a purpose and it is significant.
In one of the videos for the #YOUProject, a man named Jeremy shares his thoughts on self-worth. He states, “Everything that has been created has a purpose and it is significant.”
This message is one that is echoed in the song’s lyrics, “Every story, every scar / You are loved the way you are / There’s nothing you need to prove.”
Projects like Apollo LTD’s #YOUProject are making an impact in today’s society, telling people where their worth really lies.
