Dreaming of a Mamma Mia moment?

Greek islands are some of the most picturesque places to visit and soak up the sun. Here are three great places for you to explore.

Corfu

Corfu is an island defined by its mountainous landscapes.

Its cultural heritage mirrors the years spent under Venetian, French and British rule, before being met with Greece in the 19th century.

Prince Philip was born here!

Corfu Town, bordered by two Venetian fortresses, features windy medieval lanes. Plus, here’s a trivial fact if you’re a fan of the Royal family, Prince Philip was born here!

Santorini

Located south-east of Athens in the Aegean Sea, Santorini has breath-taking sunsets and aesthetically picturesque white and blue buildings.

Two of its whitewashed principal towns, Thira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater crater after a volcanic eruption in the 16th century.

Santorini boasts dramatic views.

Perfect for a sun-filled relaxing holiday full of Instagram opportunities, Santorini boasts dramatic views, beautiful sunsets, classic Greek food, (including a white aubergine), and its very own active volcano that you can climb!

Rhodes

Rhodes boasts beautiful beach resorts and ancient ruins, such as the Acropolis in Lindos.

The city of Rhodes features an Old Town showcasing the medieval Street of the Knights and the castle-like Palace of the Grand Masters.

If staying in the north of the island closer to Rhodes’ Old Town, a boat trip can take you to Lindos in around an hour whilst enjoying the blue views (and the occasional dolphin), and stopping for a swim in Anthony Quinn Bay, featured in The Guns of Navarone film.

Be sure to explore one of these islands

All islands boast highs of 32 degrees throughout the summer months so grab your sunhat, sun cream and a good book and be sure to explore one of these islands the next time you’re wondering where to go.
