Among the personalities interviewed in the new documentary film 'Kingdom Men Rising' is award-winning rapper Lecrae.
The film, directed by Kyle Lewis, explores what it means to be a real man in the midst of cultural trends where there is confusion about masculinity. Challenging men to rise above what we’ve become to lives of no more excuses.
In the film, Lecrae talks about growing up in a fatherless home and learning to forgive the dad he never met.
Tony Evans is the driving force behind the film.
Pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Tony Evans is the driving force behind the film. Personalities include television commentator Tony Dungy, NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown and music artists Kirk Franklin and Anthony Evans.
Speaking about the message of Kingdom Men Rising, Evans said in the Baptist Press, “We want men to clearly understand the biblical definition of manhood and not the cultural definition of manhood. And when they understand it, we want them to begin actively moving and making the changes necessary to become that kind of man. And then we want every man to be a mentor to another man who wants and needs to become that kind of man.”
